Who can participate in the granfondo?

The following may participate:

  • Any rider with an FCI license
  • Any rider with a license issued by any of the sports promotion associations that have signed an agreement with the FCI for 2019
  • Anyone presenting a Bike Card together with the license from his or her own association, as specified in the convention described on the FCI website (https://www.federciclismo.it/it/article/2018/03/13/in-distribuzione-la-bike-card-2018/96424b3b-bbb2-408e-a493-e0584bcbb8c4/; this pertains to 2018)
  • Anyone without a license but with a valid medical certification of fitness for competitive CYCLING (not athletics or triathlon); these riders will be issued a one-day license for a fee of €15
What are the minimum and maximum ages for participation in the granfondo?

The granfondo is open to individuals (men/women) ages 19 and over (the calendar year is considered, so the person may not yet have turned 19 at the time of the granfondo).

In accordance with FCI regulations, those over 64 must ride the Medio route of 133.8 km.

May I participate if I am not a member of any club?

Yes, of course. You will be registered as an “individual” participant.

When you come to pick up your race packet, bring your medical certification of fitness for participation in competitive sports and we will issue you a one-day FCI license at a cost of €15, payable at that moment if you haven’t already paid for it online. The one-day license offers the same insurance as is provided for FCI members. You will need to have your medical certification of fitness for participation in competitive CYCLING events in order to receive the one-day license; certifications for other disciplines such as triathlon or athletics are not valid.

What if I don’t have a medical certification?

We will not be able to issue you a one-day license and you will not be able to participate in the Sportful Dolomiti Race.

What is the one-day license for, and who needs it?

The one-day license is a document designed for those who do not have a license through a club. The one-day FCI license provides insurance coverage like the coverage that those with club membership already have. The cost (set by the Italian Cycling Federation, FCI) is €15 and must be paid at the race packet pickup or during registration.

Why do I see another logo appear during the online registration process?

Online registration for the Sportful Dolomiti Race is managed by MySDAM Timing Agency (Championchip), which will also provide the timing service the day of the event. The logo you see is theirs or that of Endu, the platform that belongs to MySDAM.

I’m having problems with the online registration. What should I do?
How can I know whether my registration is confirmed?

If you are not sure that your registration was completed correctly:

  1. Check to see if you received a confirmation email from Endu/SDAM. If you received the email, you are registered for the race.

You may not receive our messages even if you are registered, for various reasons:

  • You provided an email address that is incorrect or no longer in use.
  • The messages were delivered to your spam folder.
  • Your email server rejected the messages.
  1. If you have not received a confirmation of payment, you are not registered.
  2. If the payment has been charged to you but you have not received a confirmation email, contact segreteria@sdam.it.
May I sign up multiple individuals?

Yes, certainly. You just need to use your club’s letterhead and provide for each rider all the information requested on the registration form for individuals. The page with the list of riders must then be signed by the president of the club, confirming its accuracy. All the members’ registration fees can be paid with a single payment.

Or you can register multiple individuals online. Rather than concluding the order after entering the information for the first individual, simply click on “add registration”.

Do I need a license at the time of registration?

Not necessarily at the time of registration.

The information pertaining to your 2019 license, whether issued by the FCI or another entity, must be communicated as soon as you obtain it, and in any case no later than June 3, 2019.

I don’t have a timing chip. What do I do?

When you come to pick up your race packet, you’ll find the booth of SDAM (Championchip), the company that provides the timing services for the granfondo, just a few meters away. There you can check to make sure your chip is working, rent a chip for the event (you’ll pay a deposit, and when you return the chip they’ll give back all but a few euros for the rental fee) or purchase a personal chip.

If I don’t feel like continuing, can I drop out?

Yes, and if you need to withdraw you can also make use of the broom-wagon service, which will take you to the finish in the organization’s vehicles (minibuses or vans), following at the back of the group. Remember, though, that the broom wagon is not a taxi; it will follow at the back, collecting riders who drop out, and will proceed directly to Feltre only when the vehicle is full, and not before.
